Practical Magic Astrology: Meet Neptune

Neptune was the Olympian god of the waters and seas. Also known as Neptunus Equester (Neptune Equestrian or cloudy horse lord), he was recognized as a god of horses and horsemanship, as well as patron of horse racing, a popular form of entertainment in ancient days. His totems also include bulls, hippocampi (mer-horses), dolphins, and all sea creatures and beings (like mer-folk).

Neptune commanded the atmosphere and controlled the land beneath the sea, so he could command earthquakes, floods, drought, and storms. In the earliest writings, he is described as equal to his brother Jupiter/Zeus in dignity, but he is not interested in ruling the world of humanity. He is busy creating and building and dreaming the future into existence.
