Manifesting Winter's Magic

Solstice Lanterns

No matter how gray or chilly it is outside, the flame of a single candle can help warm and brighten the day. Take any old jar with a mouth wide enough to accept a candle placed inside, and decorate with celestial bodies. Use tinfoil, construction paper, or even brown paper from grocery bags for the stars, suns, and crescent moon shapes. Use Elmer’s white glue, crafting glue, or ModPodge to stick them to the surface of the glass. Tear tissue paper into strips and cover over the shapes until the entire jar is covered with the tissue, covering the tissue paper with more glue until everything is completely coated. Leave it to dry sitting on the jar’s lid, if you have it, or on a non-stick surface, like a ceramic dish.
