When humans were given the mental capacity of the prefrontal cortex, we were no longer just trainable animals. We were given the ability to receive and use ideas, inspiration, and imagination. With these gifts came a programming of our conscious, unconscious, and subconscious minds that transferred to every human, regardless of where they were in the world or when they lived.
These programs were so deeply ingrained in our minds that they took on states of being, or personifications of patterns. These are called archetypes.
You can…
- Recognize them without judgement - There aren’t good or bad Archetypes, but each has a strength and shadow side. Relate - recognize yourself and others in these characters.
- Morph at any moment - your top Archetypes may fluctuate depending on situations in which you find yourself.
- Change your identification - once you are aware of the archetype’s ‘natural’ reactions, you can choose differently.
- Identify them in others - individuals, leaders and teams have an easy reference point for acknowledging behavior and discussing change.
- Figure out why - Understanding the different motives of the Archetypes often answers the ‘why’ behind your purpose in life or an organization’s mission in the world.
