The Wheel of the Year turns now into July, as the Sun begins its FALL down into Lammas, half way to the Autumn Equinox of September. The Mutable Fire of the time flows into Cardinal Earth. Cardinal energy is full out running on all cylinders. Earth is pumping out its bounty. There are veggies and fruits galore on our tables.
Life is at its high point of the year, and peaking. Just as when you throw a ball up into the air, it goes up and up to its apex, then appears to pause briefly, then begins its fall back down. This makes the ball look suspended in animation. The Sun does this at the Solstices, holding its position, appearing to stall. This is why there is the thing about “and on the third day he arose from the dead” in the Catholic Apostles’ Creed. The Sun takes three days to rise to its highest point, peak, and fall again.
